I used a telephoto lens here to convert a complex vista into a simple scene. By including the tree-trunk on the right to balance the boathouse, I hoped to suggest two reflections; one vertical and one horizontal. The autumn colour is near its peak here and it is early in the day, hence the warmth in the sun and the lack of visitors, who feed the ducks and swans - who in turn spoil the reflections!
