David Hockney is quite possibly the greatest British artist to use photography, and his desert landscape photo-collages are superb. I don't claim this image is anything more than a nod to his style but I enjoyed making it, hand-held, using both tilt and shift lens movements in the desert heat. I've set the zone of focus through the sign to throw it into sharp relief. Red is an advancing colour too, of course.
